Tiger Trail buzzed with excitement as students, families, and staff gathered for the much-anticipated Tiger Trot.

With 350 attendees, the event was more than a school fundraiser—it was a celebration of the strong bonds that form the heart of the SBISD community. Families from Tiger Trail and campus feeder schools enjoyed a variety of activities, including face painting, games, food trucks, and a blizzard of bubbles. A live DJ kept the energy high, and the perfect weather and a golden sunset added to the festive atmosphere.

“It felt amazing to look around and see all of our past, present, and future little Tigers laughing and playing together,” said Principal Mandy Ruiz. “This event wasn’t just about fun and games—it was about helping families connect and build relationships that will last throughout their years in SBISD. It’s about setting the foundation for a shared journey of learning and growth.”

The Tiger Trot served as a reminder that SBISD is about more than just academics. It’s about creating a community where every family feels a sense of belonging, and Every Child is given the tools to succeed. The event was also an opportunity to celebrate SBISD’s vision for Every Child’s success, beginning with early education. SBISD’s pre-K program plays a critical role in laying the foundation for future academic achievement. New research from Rice University shows that students who attend pre-K are better prepared for the challenges of kindergarten and beyond. SBISD pre-K students are 27% more likely to be ready for kindergarten in English and 63% more likely to be ready in Spanish compared to their peers who did not attend pre-K.
